A shared pot everyone can follow

Keep track of your shared pot

For a group trip, a club, a shared holiday home or a team kitty, Ropeno shows who has paid in, what you have spent and what should be in the pot.

Does this sound familiar?

One person looks after the account while everyone else sends their share. It can be hard to remember who has paid and what the money has covered. Ropeno keeps the plan in one place for the group.

How it works

  1. 1

    Agree what each person pays

Set the amount each person contributes and how often you collect it, such as every month or every three months.

  2. 2

    Mark payments as they arrive

Tick off each person's payment for the month. You can see who has paid and what is still due.

  3. 3

Keep the balance up to date

Record what the group spends. Ropeno works out the expected balance, which you can compare with your bank account by hand.

A shared view of the pot

  • See each person's agreed contribution and whether they have paid this month.
  • Group spending and other money in, like interest or a refund, by trip or event, and see the amount per person.
  • Check the expected balance from the opening amount, payments and spending. Enter the balance from your bank account to compare the two.
  • Share the pot by link. Choose whether others can view it or make changes, and see how many people have access.

Questions about shared pots

Does everyone need a Ropeno account?

No. Contributors are listed by name, so they do not need their own account. You can share the pot by link with people who want to follow along or help manage it.

Does Ropeno connect to our bank?

No. Check your bank account yourself, then enter its balance in Ropeno to compare it with the expected balance.

Can I correct a payment from an earlier month?

Yes. You can update an earlier month if you forgot to mark a payment or ticked it by mistake.

How does the balance forecast work?

It assumes everyone pays as planned and projects the balance from those contributions. It does not predict future spending, so the actual balance may be different.

Can we share the pot with the whole group?

Yes. Share a link and choose whether people can view the pot or edit it. Contributors are names in the pot, not linked accounts.

Make the pot easier for everyone to follow
